Building a business after years in corporate marketing was a cinch for Sue Dobbe. From admin to Marketing Manager, Dobbe learned quick and worked fast. Her reputation resulted in referrals from one job to the next in international industry leaders in brand, product development and marketing.
Sue started Dobbe Marketing as a part-time gig while her children were small in 1989. It took off through networking and relationship building with an emphasis on creativity and strategic thinking.
Sue Dobbe has focused energy on community service at a local, state and national level. She has served in leadership positions for the following organizations:
- Governors Commission on the Status of Women in Illinois
- Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce
- McHenry Chamber of Commerce
- Downtown Crystal Lake Main Street
- Women in Management, Inc.
- Rotary Club of Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers
- Junior Achievement
Securing her Bachelors degree from Roosevelt University of Chicago in 1986, Sue continues her education through seminars, workshops, conferences and training. She reports to always be learning something new from her team of professional marketers, video, web, copywriters, designers and support team.
In 2004, Dobbe purchased a vintage commercial building in Downtown Crystal Lake at 104 Minnie Street. It was transformed from a dental office to an oasis of original art, colorful and comfortable areas of collaboration and creation. Now over 100 years in age, the building is in terrific shape and boasts of ten parking spaces just a block from the Metra commuter train station.
Sue Dobbe recently married local attorney Thomas J. Leahy and updated her name to Sue Dobbe-Leahy.
When she is not “Making Noise” or building brands, Dobbe-Leahy can be found sailing, canoeing or hiking around Crystal Lake or Lake Geneva.
